Park Hyatt’s Masters of Food and Wine in June

If you are like me, you are already starting to plan your summer weekends. And one weekend you won’t want to miss is the Park Hyatt’s Masters of Food & Wine, June 2nd – 5th. Bringing together some of the most well-known talents in the culinary, wine, and artistic worlds, Masters of Food & Wine is your exclusive chance to eat, drink, and celebrate your way through an exciting menu of events. Starting on Friday, June 2nd, you can enjoy cheese and wine tastings, as well as dining opportunities at The Blue Duck Tavern to explore regional dishes that celebrate fresh, local ingredients created by chefs from across the country including Executive Chef Joshua Hopkins of Abattoir in Atlanta; Chef de Cuisine of The Publican in Chicago, Brian Huston; Executive Chef Pierre Albaladejo of Park Hyatt Aviara; and Blue Duck Tavern Executive Chef Brian McBride, and Chef de Cuisine Eric Fleischer.

To add to your gustatory enjoyment, renowned Sommelier and Wine Educator Charlie Arturaola will be on hand to mix, mingle, and share his vast knowledge of and passion for wine with guests. Additionally, wine columnist from The Washington Post – Dave McIntyre; wine writer and educator Kelly Magyarics, and Sommelier Andrew Stover will be leading wine tastings and serving as wine ambassadors for the event all weekend long.

This year, while enjoying the delicious food and wine pairings, the Masters will also feature an original collection of oil paintings by local Virginia artist Christopher Mize. His collection, on display now through June 5th, can be seen in the Park Hyatt’s lounge as well as The Blue Duck Tavern, so even if you can’t make it to the Masters Food & Wine weekend, you can head downtown for happy hour or dinner at The Blue Duck and enjoy artwork inspired by the event. And should one of Mize’s featured works capture your eye, pieces from this special event are available for sale, with prices ranging from $350 to $1250.
