A Weekend Jaunt to "The End"—Montauk, Long Island

With a little over a month left of summer, have a weekend getaway on Montauk, Long Island before it’s too late! Here’s some snapshots from my recent trip to “The End”:

The Montauk Lighthouse, The view from Duryea Lobster Deck (65 Tuthill Road), Fresh clams and melted butter on the Duryea Lobster Deck, Hiking trail at Shadmoor State Park, “Hoodoos” made from the ocean surf, a jellyfish washed ashore, The Lobster Roll aka “Lunch” (1980 Montauk Hwy Amagansett, NY), Delicious homemade Strawberry Rhubarb Pie with cinnamon ice cream (The Lobster Roll), Offerings at a Native American Burial Ground (located at the end of Pocahontas Lane), At the top of the Montauk Lighthouse, Fallen World War II bunker on the beach at Montauk Point, sea creatures, Remains of a bonfire at Gin Beach, A seagull enjoying the jetty at Gin Beach, The Montauket Hotel Restaurant /Bar/Hotel/Sunset.
