Little Italy—Festive in All Seasons

Year round, Little Italy maintains a festive facade filled with the delights of each season. Food is art in Little Italy and neighboring Chinatown where locals often pack restaurants and shops, reminiscent of decades past. Many surviving businesses haven’t changed much over the years and a walk around the neighborhood for a meal or to pick up ingredients – often exotic or unusual – can prove entertaining amidst the sights and sounds. If you have the time, try a meal in one of the great establishments like Umberto’s Clam House on Mulberry Street where you can enjoy a meal for two for under $50. Or, for a treat, stop at Ferrara’s on Grand Street for a gelato, any day of the year. Pistachio recommended!
