Walking into the French Embassy on Fifth Avenue for the Couture Council Summer Party, one is greeted by Michelangelo’s Cupid or what’s otherwise known as the “The Manhattan Michelangelo.” Actually, it’s a replica, as the original has upgraded his living situation to the confines of the Metropolitan Museum of Art. But, his sweetness remains and today, Faux Cupid is encircled by a pool of white roses and votive candles. Likewise, the rooms for the summer cocktail party are sparely decorated, with intention, so as not to compete with the artistry of couture. Only originals in this crowd.

Originals indeed! It seemed like a lovely event. The photos are really great. It must have been wonderful to be there.
