This past Tuesday, I partnered up with my neighbor and long time partner in crime, New Jersey Housewife Kim G, along with my good friend from Hoboken, Celebrity Chef, Chris Nirschel, for another reckless night of fun in N.Y.C. Once Kim and I arrived in our home away from home, Chris Nirschel, the culinary bad boy from The Food Network, and our photographer, Yoni Levy, headed to our evening’s first red carpet event on 42nd street. Our red carpet hopping included the International Film Festival and the long-awaited Big Lebowski Blu-ray release party.

It was opening night at The 2011 International Latino Film Festival, and the premiere of the animated film “Chico y Rita.” We met and posed with various friendly faces as well as the cast, and crew, including one spicy habanero, Celines Toribio, actress/host/ Maxim model, no big deal. All the chatting and flashing caused us to lose track of time, so naturally we were late for stop number two – the Big Lebowski Cast Reunion Event.
We had negative 15 minutes to arrive at the Hammerstein Ballroom, so naturally we marched right through Times Square. Christian Louboutin’s footwear had no mercy on Kim, so Nirsch decided to sweep her off her feet, literally. Watching the Housewives star and the Next Food Network Star contestant honeymooning through Times Square oddly enough seemed standard; and not at all out of place, all we needed was the naked cowboy. Watch our exclusive video here.
We finally found a cab (that’s a joke), placed Kim in it, and got to the Lebowski event just as the red carpet closed up. It took a couple minutes to find our tickets- a couple meaning twenty- but still made it in time to meet some of the cast; including Jeff Bridges, Julianne Moore, and the big guy from Rosanne, John Goodman. We grabbed a few snapshots with the Beautiful Julianne Moore and Jeff Bridges, who’s self-titled album came out this week, and took our front row seats for the cast/creator Q & A. Watching the chemistry between the cast made me… well, made me want to contact co-workers I actually liked and haven’t spoken to in 13 years. So far, I’ve held back the impulse.

After an hour or so, we decided it’d be best for our crew to head to the “Chico y Rita”/Latino Film Fest after-party and celebrate the movie that we unfortunately never got to see due to our Lebowski pit stop. The party was at the Juliette Supper Club where we hung out in VIP, conversing and snapping pics with the cast and crew of “Chico and Rita”; nodding our heads as a form of politeness whenever someone brought up the film, since as I mentioned earlier, we never got to see. I will tell you this, Latinos know how to party! Forget the champagne; Heineken was flowing from every direction. The V-I-P was H-O-T; partially due to the actual temperature but mostly as a result of the zesty salsa dancing.
We left the party around 1am. Nirsh parted ways with us to go do more single-bachelor things, while Kim and I kept the antics going. No surprise that I lost my car keys somewhere along the way, so Kim and I cruised Times Square on foot while we waited for a spare key drop off. We still made it a good time, if there is anyone I’d prefer to be stranded in the city with, outside of Mrs. Magnet, it’d be Kim.
Kim lost the battle with her heels and was walking around barefoot. This didn’t stop the intoxicated Housewives fans from swarming her and asking for pictures. For a night like this we needed one last thing to top it off: McDonalds at Times Square, A couple double cheeseburgers and drunk people later, we got the car situation sorted out, thanks to a spare key delivery, and drove back to New Jersey, but if anyone finds my key, please let me know!
