On March 14, women comics will be taking off their shirts to support the fight against breast cancer. Headlined by Elvira Kent (below), whose credits include the Tonight Show with Jay Leno, the women will present GENEROSI-TITTIES, full-frontal philanthropy to benefit the Young Survival Coalition.
Presented by Comix, produced by Leah Dubie (Tru TV, LOGO) and Amy Beckerman (HBO, MTV), GENEROSI-TITTIES will donate 100 percent of the proceeds to YSC, an international organization dedicated to the critical issues unique to young women with breast cancer. To date, YSC has helped tens of thousands of young women across the United States. Beckerman is personally affected by the disease. “I met my friend Meghan when she was going through cancer treatment. I was shocked that she was so young. Nobody thinks that women our age get breast cancer. YSC is working to change that and we are happy to help. But this is how we help…partially nude,” joked Beckerman.
Every year there are over 11,000 women under 40 diagnosed with breast cancer and 250,000 women living with the disease. YSC works with survivors, caregivers and the medical, research, advocacy and legislative communities to increase the quality and quantity of life for young women diagnosed with breast cancer. And now, get ready to pair nakedness with kindness and check out some GENEROSI-TITTIES! “I’ve never performed topless…in public, but I can’t think of a better reason to tell jokes without my shirt on,” said Dubie.
In addition to a performance by acclaimed headliner, Elvira Kurt, the event will be hosted by Dubie and Beckerman and boasts some of the best local talent that NYC has to offer including Scout Durwood (Shot at Love with Tila Tequila), Amy Albert (Now That You’ve Seen Me Naked) and Selena Coppock (collegehumor.com).
