Two of our favorite things are coming together in one great package. Enter our April contest and you could be heading to the theater in style. The play is Nora and Delia Ephron’s Off-Broadway smash, Love, Loss, and What I Wore, featuring an all-star rotating cast. And because the show is all about what we wear, what could be better than a $200 gift certificate from the dress store, Lord & Taylor? Click on the banner ad above to enter.
Love, Loss, and What I Wore has received rave reviews from the critics. Liz Smith called it “sweet and saucy,” while the New York Times said that the “funny, compelling” show “brought down the house.” (Read our review.) Based on the popular book by Ilene Beckerman with additional stories from Nora and Delia Ephron, the play evokes memories of love by recalling the various outfits that women wore. Daryl Roth, a recent Woman Around Town, produced the play. Read Carol Toscano’s profile of this Pulitzer Prize winning producer.
We know that a dress can represent an important moment in a woman’s life. We want our winner to choose a memorable one for her special night. When we thought about the best place to shop, we thought about Lord & Taylor. This Fifth Avenue fashion mecca is now bursting with exquisite spring fashions and making a final choice could be difficult. Not to worry. The store’s Personal Shopper Extraordinaire, Vicki, will help our winner select the perfect outfit for her evening out. Then, dressed to the nines in her new clothes, our winner and a friend will attend a performance of Love, Loss, and What I Wore sometime during May when Brooke Shields is scheduled to join the cast. She will take home with her a goody bag filled with special mementos of her night.
Along the way, Woman Around Town will be on hand to report on the winner’s activities—from her shopping trip to her evening at the theater. She will be featured in a future story on our website.
Spring is here and we are ready to dress up and go out! So click on our banner ad. We hope you win!
