Movies with a View

What do you usually do after your office hours? Go home, go shopping, meet up with a girlfriend for a cup of coffee?

Fair enough to say yes to all of the above. This after-office-hours routine could be spiced up with the New York 12th Season of “Movies with a View” starting on July 7 at Brooklyn Bridge Park’s Pier 1.

The free film screenings happen all over the town, but only this location offers you the picturesque landscape of downtown Manhattan, the stunning Brooklyn Bridge, the sunset reflecting off the East River, along with fresh air and a cool breeze! It sounds romantic, soothing, and pacifying…

The evening starts at 6 p.m. with Brooklyn Radio DJs spinning tunes. The movie starts at sundown, anywhere from 8 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. This season’s volunteer film committee has decided to let you breathe in New York in full and realize that New York is more than just mesmerizing skyscrapers and eye-catching sights. Each film showcases New York in all its glory. Scheduled films include Woody Allen’s Manhattan, Ghostbusters, Breakfast at Tiffany’s with the unforgettable Audrey Hepburn, An American Tail for your family’s youngest, and many others. Here’s the lineup:

July 7 — Manhattan

July 14 — Ghostbusters

July 21 — Sweet Smell of Success

July 28 — Basquiat

August 4 — An American Tail

August 11 — Breakfast at Tiffany’s

August 18 — Crooklyn

August 25 — Rosemary’s Baby

September 1 — Voters’ Choice

Viewing Manhattan in evening lights, sitting on the lawn by the river, and watching New York on a screen will make you feel a part of a movie, and this is what I call 4-dimensional. You won’t find this experience inside any cinema.

Check it out and don’t forget to bring a mat to sit on, a few refreshments, and your very best mood to share with a friend! Now you know where to find me after my office hours every Thursday!
