Icebreaker: Merino Wool Must Haves

icebreaker featured

Whether you’re ready for summer to be over or not, fall is here! And what better way to embrace the chilly nights and the crisp days than by wrapping yourself in this year’s must-have fall fabric, merino wool. Icebreaker, located at 102 Wooster St. in Manhattan’s historic SoHo neighborhood, will help you pick out your must-have merino items for the upcoming chill. During a recent visit to the shop (all items are available online), I had the pleasure of trying on many of their new items and, to my surprise, they felt nothing like the scratchy wool sweaters you might find in your Grandmother’s closet.

Icebreaker’s luxurious Merino Underwear is made from silky soft merino with a touch of LYCRA – making for a perfect fit. The line includes a range of sporty, sexy tops and bottoms in a variety of colors. Icebreaker also has a new grouping of accessories to battle the coming colder days of winter, including soft, non-itch beanies, balaclavas, gloves, chutes and scarves.

My favorite items in the store were their Realfleece Nano Jackets and the Black Sheep Knitwear. The Nano Jackets are made from Realfleece, Icebreaker’s natural alternative to synthetic fleece that integrates merino wool’s natural performance with Nanotechnology’s molecular-level hydrophobic performance. The jacket’s sophisticated style will keep you dry in the rain and snow and it looks fantastic on.

Icebreaker’s luxurious line of fine-gauge Black Sheep Knitwear is not to be missed. It’s great for layering and a simple way to snazz up a casual outfit. Be sure to check out Icebreaker’s shop for the upcoming holidays.
