Inglot—Worth the Trip to Times Square

Sign

When someone mentions Times Square, most native New Yorkers shudder and can’t help but think “over priced tourist trap.” But late one night, I went with a group of friends for a walk down Broadway to check out the new Times Square MAC cosmetics store. We stumbled upon a makeup store we had never heard of—Inglot. Being a self-proclaimed makeup geek I just had to go in!

I was like a kid in a candy store and once I saw the prices I knew I wasn’t going to make it to the MAC store.

Inglot is a Polish cosmetics company with stores all over the globe. The New York store is the first to be opened in the United States, but hopefully it won’t be the last. Inglot is a lot like MAC, with a knowledgeable staff and an extensive color palette.

The eye shadows and lipsticks are highly pigmented and sell for about $12 each. The best part about Inglot— the affordable make your own palette option. The freedom palette system allows you to choose a quad, quintet, or more of shadows, blushes, glosses and concealers. Customers can make anywhere from a two-color lip gloss palette for $16 to a ten color eye shadow palette for $50.

My one complaint about the store would have to be the location; it’s smack dab in the middle of busy Times Square and the products are not available for purchase online.

Overall this company dazzled me; the prices are as affordable as Sephora with the color payoff of a MAC product.
