Shimmering bracelets, dangling gem necklaces, and ornate cuffs, are the hot fashion accessory for fall 2009. Last year, statement jewelry made its debut at the major fashion shows in Europe and America, giving these daring pieces a significant boost. Wearing one piece of “wow” jewelry with a tee and jeans, or with a jacket or little black dress, will increase your fashionista score ten-fold.
Metal Pointu’s, a name that translates into edgy-metal, has become a shopper’s haven for statement jewelry. Showcasing the talents of designer and artist Bernard Bouhnik, each piece of jewelry begins with a metal base—tin, bronze, or silver—-that is welded into shape and often embellished with Swarovski crystals, pate de verre (glass) or sparkling beads. Bouhnik lives and works in Paris and creates his magnificent pieces in his atelier.
Bouhnik’s designs are divided into five seductive sounding lines: Flagrant Impact (limited editions), Absolute Privilege (contemporary), Dazzled (innovative), Sweet & Sour (sensuous), and Remember Forever (cutting edge). A favorite among stylists, Metal Pointu’s jewelry can be seen on any number of models in fashion magazines from the French Marie Claire, L’Officiel, to the September 2009 cover of Nylon.
Established fifteen years ago in Paris with shops in major cities throughout Europe, Metal Pointu’s flagship store in Soho is the starting point for expansion into the American market. Online shopping is available at www.metal-pointus.com

I love this store. I bought a great bracelet and necklace and a gift for a friend. On my last two trips to Paris I bought something each time. The designs are reasonably priced and you will not have a hard time finding something nicer even if you want to pay a few times more. My favorite store is Metal Pointu’s store on 2 rue St Honore in Paris. Happy that they are in NYC too!
