The name Dress Barn does not usually conjure up the concept of high fashion, but this spring it appears the company will be offering some pretty fabulous items that come pretty darn close. And the prices will remain at reasonably priced Dress Barn levels. I stopped by the Dress Barn Spring Press Preview to see what they had in store for the public once the weather warms up.
It looks like navies and whites will be all the rage this spring for that chic sailor look. And many of the pieces that will be available have detailed embroidery, crochet and eyelets. “I feel like we are going one step further with the eyelet,” commented Marketing Director Christina Brand.
“We also have a lot of bright denims,” she mentioned as she pointed out the new jean jackets in rich colors like coral, lime green, magenta and orange. In addition to bright color, there is a plethora of whites.
The dresses that are available this spring are very stylish and youth-appropriate for a brand that considers itself to be designed for a 40-something crowd. “These dresses are a little more youthful, really low backs and a bit sexier than what we are used to,” says Brand. There were also many tops with plunging necklines, adding to the sexier profile of the Dress Barn spring line.
The spring line at Dress Barn is incredibly affordable. Contributing to the value and fashion of the brand is the addition of Jones New York pieces into the mix. “We have a lot of Jones pieces that are made especially for us,” says Brand, “the quality is really great and the price points are even better.”
