The Coats of Autumn

lady among leaves

Remember when coats actually covered your knees, when they couldn’t be confused with jackets? Remember when they were warm, manufacturers assuming we would actually be OUT in the cool weather, not walking from garage to car/cab to door? It’s getting more and more difficult to find outerwear that doesn’t look like a parka…and might conceivably be protection from the elements. I suppose one ought to resign oneself and simply buy ski underwear. With some effort to avoid the obviously flimsy, we present the following where at least design compensates when density does not. (Lots of trench coats this year).
