I have no recollection when ankle boots (booties?) came in, do you? They seem to have found their water level, however, and turn up now every season boots are not sweating out our feet. Upcoming versions include not just the usual, comfortable, flat variety but a number of heeled interpretations that look like a shoe caught in the process of trying to become a boot. One of the fashion magazines will undoubtedly coin a nifty name for these.
