Remember that episode of the Real Housewives of New York, when Alex and Simon visited their favorite store in the Hamptons, Blue & Cream, and dropped a bundle? Well, we were in the Hamptons and couldn’t resist stopping into Blue & Cream to see what all the fuss was about.
We spoke with the owners, Samantha and Jeffrey, about what makes the store so special. “We only pick out the things we love,” they told us. “It’s dressing for the weekend. It’s not everything for everybody.”
In fact, we found much in the store we did love. (Although the men in our party quickly passed on the bright pastel suede loafers that ended up on Simon’s feet). The merchandise is put together with much thought and the juxtaposition between high end women’s fashion and lower-priced street clothes worked.
If you can’t get out to the Hamptons, visit Blue & Cream on the Lower East Side. You may not bump into the Housewives there, but you might see Lindsay Lohan, Alex Rodriquez (will he have Kate Hudson in tow?) or one of the Victoria’s Secret models. They all make Blue & Cream a must stop.
It’s now on our list. And, oh, for the record, we asked about Alex and Simon. “They are actually very sweet,” said Samantha. “I know they get the brunt of it. But in person, they are really, REALLY, nice.”
