Landau Jewelry—Celebrity Glamour for Less

Landau

Frequent flyers have long relied on Landau, the “traveler’s jewelry store,” so they can pack fancy bracelets, necklaces, and earrings and look great without having to worry about theft or loss. Now Landau is wrapping up its post-holiday sale and there are bargains galore.

Margaret Villanneva, who manages Landau’s stores on Madison Avenue and in the Time Warner Center, explains that the company extended its recession sale until Saturday, January 30, “just to help everyone out.” Everything in the store is 50 percent off, with some pieces reduced as much as 80 percent. In addition, there are other items—white and gray pearl necklaces, bracelets, and earrings, Christmas pins, lady bug and other animal pins—for only $10.

Katherine Bauman purses, encrusted with Swarovski crystals, are discounted 50 percent. These small clutches are whimsical and truly collector’s items. Our favorites include the New York City yellow cab and the Monopoly logo. Although still pricey (the Monopoly purse is half off its original $2,499 price) Villanneva says that customers may lay away items at the sale price and pay off in stages.

Landau’s gold jewelry is 14 karat gold overlay on sterling silver, and pieces that sparkle like diamonds are actually Russian cubic zirconia.

Landau has more than 80 boutiques located in exclusive shopping venues around the U.S., including, in New York, the Hilton Hotel, Waldorf Astoria, Sheraton, and Trump Tower. In Las Vegas, shop Landau in the Venetian Hotel (another store once managed by Villanneva). The Madison Avenue store has been visited by Michelle Obama and featured in episodes of Ugly Betty and Lipstick Jungle.
