Don’t You Want a Career that Does More?

Of course you should want a career that does more. We spend so much of our daily lives moaning about the work that we do, and if we aren’t moaning about it, we’re thinking about all of the things that we’d rather be doing at that moment in time. But we’re stuck with our carers for life, so you might as well try and do a career that’s going to do more for you, and more for the people around you. There are some super rewarding careers out there that will completely change how you think about the world of work. When you finally find a career that you like, and one that’s more focused on people rather than focused on the company itself, you’ll find job satisfaction like never before. So, let us enlighten you to some of the careers that we think you’re missing out on.

Social Work

Social work is definitely one of the harder ones that we’re going to talk about. If you haven’t thought about it before, and don’t have a clue what it entails, then it doesn’t mean it isn’t going to be the career for you. It will mean that you’ll have to go to university to do a course in social work, but it doesn’t stop there. If you were to do an online Msw, you would have a masters degree that could potentially earn you so much money. Your role will be to support families who might be struggling, or parents who can no longer look after their children. On a daily basis you will see safeguarding issues that might upset you. But on the flip side, you’ll be helping so many children and families to get out of the distressing situation they’re in. It definitely isn’t for everyone, but it’s the most rewarding one we’re going to talk about today.

Learning Disabilities Play Therapist

Learning disabilities is a broad spectrum. So many people are born with birth defects that mean they have learning disabilities. From the common one that’s autism, to the less common down’s syndrome. This is going to be such a rewarding role because there are so many children out there with LD that benefit from play therapy. It stimulates their minds, calms them down, and gives them an escape from the lonely world that they might be feeling. The connection you’ll gain with them will be something special, and to see how happy you can make them will be more than rewarding.

Art Gallery Curator

Many people who look for something in a career that does more tend to go towards the creative side. But when you feel there is no natural creativity in you, you can use your approach to business to bring creativity to the masses, such as entrepreneur Javad Marandi, who started a company, The Watercolour World, to digitize watercolors so people can access great art online rather than in a museum. Being an art gallery curator means being involved in buying or borrowing artworks, displaying them, as well as writing materials for visitors, giving talks, and so many more aspects. It is a creative career without actually being creative in the traditional sense.

Relationship Counsellor

If you love giving out relationship advice, and you’re the one that all of your friends come to when they’re having problems, then this might be for you. It’ll only be for you however if you genuinely do care about the problems people are having. You could be the difference between repairing a marriage, and watching it break apart. You will have to do courses to qualify as a counsellor, but it is a very well paid job with so many rewards along the way.
