Easy Ways To Restyle Your Home

As a homeowner, you probably already know how hard it is to constantly redecorate and improve your home. It can be a great expense sometimes and finding the perfect balance between functionality, style and coziness can be often tricky. However, in order to achieve all three things, you don’t have to always spend a fortune and completely transform your home’s style and looks. There are much easier and less expensive ways to achieve that, you just have to think outside the box sometimes. So, if you are looking to restyle your home this year, take a look at these simple ideas.

Group Mirrors Together

One big mirror can instantly transform any room. However, instead of adding one giant mirror, you can easily group several smaller mirrors together on one wall. Don’t display them throughout the house, instead keep them together for a better effect. This way, you will provide more light into your home, that one bare wall will become much more interesting and you can even achieve different styles by mixing and matching sizes of mirrors and styles of frames.

Display Stuff in Threes

The rule of three is the most common rule used in home decor, and you should try it out. If you display items around your house in threes they will look more visually appealing and the entire decor will be more balanced. Especially if you pay attention to sizes, materials, and heights to bring some variety. Of course, you can start small and ease your way into this style and experiment with small corners of your rooms. Add three items on a small coffee table and if you like it, you can bring this concept to the rest of your house. Just make sure not to overdo it.

Display Conversation Pieces

We often display things around the house that are personal to us, but those are only special to us, not everyone else. You can easily transform each room and make it more interesting by adding conversation pieces into the decor. Such pieces will get people’s attention and those pieces should stand out from the surroundings and really be eye-catching. For example, you can place a decorative cow skull from Skull Bliss which is truly unique and stands out from any classic style of home interior. Another way to do this is by picking some random pictures or art pieces or even thrift and antique pieces that you like or that bring fond memories, and they will immediately become conversation pieces.

Repaint Old Pieces

Some older accessories or furniture pieces simply tend to lose their interesting side through time. However, if they are still functional you don’t have to replace them with new ones. Instead, breathe new life into them by simply repainting them. If you have an old lamp base, a vase, or any other decor item with great shape, simply choose a new color for them or refresh the old one with a new coat. Make sure to choose a paint that is the right one for the material and simply give those pieces a second chance to stand out and even become statement pieces in your home.

Move Stuff Between Different Rooms

Moving furniture around within one room can work wonders but there is a limited amount of combinations and orders. However, ditch that logic and switch a few pieces of furniture between different rooms. Even though this doesn’t seem like a logical thing to do, it can provide a fresh way of layouts and furniture arrangements. Also, certain things may look better in a new space or they may even provide a better function for you.

As you can see, there are numerous ways to restyle your home. You don’t have to spend a fortune on new pieces, especially if your old ones simply need a fresh coat of paint. Plus, rearranging can do magic for the interior design, you just have to think outside of the box a bit.
