Beware of hanger

We’ve all experienced hanger at some point. But when you’re on the other side of the world and you’ve not had a good, substantial meal for a day or two our emotions can get the better of us. Rather than fighting or snapping at each other for the sake of it, it’s important let your travel companion know that you’re on edge because you’re hungry! It won’t take long to find a solution to the issue

Enjoy a little privacy

For a little extra, you could probably upgrade your room in your hostel or accommodation to somewhere private and enjoy your own private bathroom. It’s a good investment as it means you can spend some time together, relax a little more and not be constantly stressed about theft or the presence of others.

Laugh. A lot.

If you try to plan a picture perfect trip then chances are you’re going to get stressed and won’t be able to enjoy your travelling experience. What’s more, you’re only going to take out your frustrations on your partner. It’s far easier to accept that some things will go wrong and it’s important to roll with it and laugh, a lot. So, your partner accidentally ordered you crispy tarantulas by mistake while you went to the bathroom – instead of arguing about it, remember travelling is all about making memories. Try not to see an inconvenience as an error, but as part of your couples adventure.

Play to each other’s strengths and accept the weaknesses

So your partner has no sense of direction and you have a memory like a sieve. When travelling, it’s important to know what you’re both good at and the times when you’re going to need to work together. Not only will it make life on the road a little easier, but you’ll work better as a team and it may even bring you closer together.

Take a breather

You don’t spend every waking minute together at home, so why do it on the road? Living in each other’s pockets will drive a wedge between you. So, its important to take some time out from each other. Go for a massage while your partner has a coffee in the nearby town, then meet up later and talk about your experiences.
