Looking after your skin should be your number one priority if you are concerned with keeping your skin health and looking youthful and glowy. You should not feel under pressure to ‘stay looking young’ – after all, we all age eventually! Plus, any skin care you do decide to do, should be for you and you alone. However, you should probably learn about the skincare sins that no woman should commit.
- Sleeping In Your Makeup
Sleeping in makeup is one of the worst things you can do if you want nice skin. Makeup will clog your pores, and if you do this regularly you may end up with dirty skin that looks dull, dehydrated, and even spotty. You can easily use a face halo to take your makeup off, and these are far more effective (and better for the planet) than wipes.
- Using Products For A Different Skin Type
Knowing your skin type is so important. Usually, you have normal, oily, dry, combination, sensitive, and mature. There are so many articles out there you can use to figure it out, but if you’re unsure, you can visit a dermatologist.
- Not Applying SPF Every Single Day
SPF is one of the easiest products to use, and it’ll help you to prevent premature ageing and sun damage. Simply spray it on after your moisturiser or makeup and you’re good to go. Not applying SPF is one of the most common skincare mistakes, yet premature ageing from the sun is so preventable! Buying a spray SPF is usually a lot easier than applying a sunscreen, but you can do that too. You can buy moisturisers that contain SPF, but separate SPF sprays are usually more effective.
- Not Being Consistent
Consistency with your skincare routine is the thing you really need to focus on if you want to see a big difference in your skin. You can’t be wishy washy with it. You shouldn’t try a product or a regime for a week and expect huge results, either. It usually takes a minimum of a few weeks, if not a few months to enjoy the best results from your regime! You can’t keep on swapping out products all the time and you can’t be inconsistent if you want amazing results! You should be taking care of your skin morning and night, so keep this in mind.
- Expecting Products To Work Wonders When You’re Not Looking After Yourself
If you don’t look after yourself in other ways, then you can’t expect your products to work magic. Putting lots of expensive lotions and potions on your face is all well and good, but if you’re dehydrated, eating rubbish, not exercising and even smoking, your skin will not thank you. You’ll be able to see the effects and no amount of fancy products will do anything for you.
