The Generous Pour Wine Event Now Happening at The Capital Grille

For the tenth year in a row, The Capital Grille is holding its annual summer wine lover’s event, “The Generous Pour” at their restaurants nationwide. It is an outstanding opportunity to experience fine wines that have been selected by their Advance Sommelier, Brian Phillips. We look forward to this event every year as it allows us to enjoy the restaurant’s cuisine and further our knowledge of fine wine pairings with our favorite menu items. This year, A Soaring Legacy has been chosen for the theme.

Brian Phillips takes great care and pride in selecting the wines for The Capital Grille guests.  He commented to Woman Around Town, “The selections for this year’s The Generous Pour wine event toast the legacy of renowned winemaker Dan Duckhorn. Taking place now through September 2, our guests at The Capital Grille can take part in the tasting experience with seven selections of classic California and Washington varietals, including the Goldeneye Rosé of Pinot Noir making its exclusive debut at this year’s event. The Generous Pour is available for $28 when paired with dinner. These selections are some of the most coveted wines of the world, creating an exceptional tasting experience when paired with our signature menu items, such as our hand-cut steaks, dry aged in house.”

The full list of wines that are being paired with Capital Grille’s cuisine this year include:

Duckhorn Vineyards, Sauvignon Blanc; Napa Valley’ Goldeneye Rosé, Rosé of Pinot Noir, California; Decoy, Chardonnay, Sonoma; Migration, Pinot Noir, Sonoma Coast; Duckhorn Vineyards, Cabernet Sauvignon, Napa Valley; Canvasback, Cabernet Sauvignon, Red Mountain, WA; and Paraduxx Proprietary Red Blend, Napa Valley.

For those who want to participate in The Generous Pour, The Capital Grille’s knowledgeable servers present the wines and encourage guests to sip and savor the new varietals. The servers also highlight specific tasting notes, creating the sense of an authentic winery tasting experience.

Duckhorn Vineyards is the recipient of Wine Spectator’s Top Wine of 2017.  It was co-founded by Dan and Margaret Duckhorn in 1976.  Now, over forty years later, they are well known for their outstanding quality and are considered one of North America’s premier producers of wines in the Napa Valley.
