UN Plaza Grill in Midtown East for Exquisite International Cuisine in an Elegant Setting

UN Plaza Grill is an upscale dining destination that features cuisine from around the globe. It’s a restaurant that has everything going for it. Located at 845 United Nations Plaza, just across from the United Nations Building, you will feel like a special guest from the moment you step in the door. The food, drink, and gracious service are outstanding. It’s also nice to know that all of their delectable gourmet menu offerings are kosher. The restaurant has dinner service Sunday to Thursday from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m.  While walk-ins can be accommodated, it is a good idea to make advance reservations.

UN Table Top

UN Plaza Grill has a beautiful modern design with 40-foot floor to ceiling windows and spectacular lighting. We love the pleasant background music that included our favorites from Frank Sinatra and many others. A spacious bar anchors the front of the house where you can stop by for drinks and small plates or enjoy a cocktail before dinner. The expansive dining room can accommodate parties of all sizes.  There’s also private dining space on the ground level that is great for corporate gatherings and an upstairs banquet room ideal for special events.

Kenny Ajdini

We visited on a Sunday night for a meal that couldn’t be better. We met the General Manager, Kenny Ajdini, who helped to guide us through the tempting menu. As a starter, The mushroom soup is a must.  Topped with a tasty bread dome, the soup is creamy yet the rich taste of the mushrooms comes shining through. Fresh, lightly dressed salads include Mediterranean salad and Caesar salad that can be complemented with chicken, salmon or steak.

Potstickers

The pan-seared beef potstickers are seasoned to perfection prepared with scallions, shiitake mushrooms, sesame seeds, and served with a ponzu dipping sauce. A house favorite is the tuna pizza with avocado crème, capers, red onions, black olives, serrano pepper, micro greens, and teriyaki drizzle. There is also a delightful selection of sushi.

Ribeye

Delicious entrees are served in generous portions and you’ll appreciate the exquisite presentation. We highly recommend one of the grilled specialties, the center cut ribeye with rosemary fuego aioli. The tender beef is an example of the restaurant’s classic steakhouse fare prepared to your exact liking.  Other inviting mains include the lamb chops with mint pesto; roasted half duck with apricot-lemon zest sauce, herbed couscous; potato gnocchi with a short rib ragout and spiced tomatoes; and the crispy-seared Mediterranean branzino with grilled lemons, fresh herbs, and roasted seasonal vegetables. Add a side for the table such as Japanese eggplant in sweet chili sauce, truffle hand cut fries, or seasonal roasted vegetables.

Tuna Pizza

One of the many charming elements of UN Plaza Grill is the beverage program that has been specially designed to accompany food choices. It offers classic cocktails, original creations, top wines, and beer.

While portions are generous, you’ll want to indulge in dessert and spend more time enjoying the ambiance of the restaurant. Have some coffee to accompany scrumptious choices that include seasonal fruit, apple tart, or molton chocolate cake.

Have a lavish, memorable meal at UN Plaza Grill. We are sure that once you visit, it will become a restaurant that you keep at the top of your dining destination list.
