A Mother’s Love is Inspirational

In this time of Covid-19, are reminded of the importance of friends and family.  We demonstrate this care for others by self-isolating, keeping track of our parents and loved ones, and checking in at a distance, most likely with a Zoom meeting or through FaceTime.  Our new normal hasn’t been entirely stressful, we’ve also come to appreciate the quiet time we now have to read.

This Mother’s Day, while it may not yet be safe to visit our mothers and give them a much needed hug (for us and for them), we can express our love in words – if not our own, then the words of others.  A Mother’s Love: An Inspired Collection of Quotations Celebrating Motherhood is a new book of quotations by notable people about a mother’s love. It’s also a calming read in an uncertain time.

The book begins by asking the question, “Is there any force on earth as powerful as a mother’s love?”  This book answers that question on multiple fronts by providing quotes about  mothers in their many roles. Among them are:

Our First Teacher:

The hand that rocks the cradle is the hand that rules the world.
–W.R. Wallace

Solace & Comfort:

The heart of a mother is a deep abyss at the bottom of which you will always find forgiveness.
–Honore De Balzac

Selfless Love:

The biggest surprise my family could give me on Mother’s Day would be to remember it.
–Kathy Lette

A Mother’s Love is a little gem of a book that will be read over and over, not just by mothers, but by their children and grandchildren, too.
