Poet’s Corner – Done

And I do believe, today is that day.
Done.
Done. Done. Done.

Done with the haters
Done with the mute
Done with the thoughtless
Insisting it’s cute
Done with what’s MAGA
And the lies spread about
WE voted for Biden
To get Crazies out

Done with the doubters
And all they stir up
Conspiracy theories
Kool-aid in their cup
Done with the racists
Who claim they are not
And done with religions
Whom actually bought
A Justice Injustice
A man with a scheme
Running only for power
To kill American Dreams

I am done with excuses
Why the west is on fire
And hurricanes blow
With a bluster of ire
And tornadoes that spin
Take homes and our treasures
While the POTUS counts shekels
Paid by us for his pleasures

I am done with the guns
Wrapped up by our flag
And the Bible once truth
Making so many gag
I am done being told
Who I can love
While I watch Trump line up soldiers
To shoot peace from a dove

I am done with the rhetoric
What’s night now is day
And this virus that’s killing
A thousand each day
Is nothing more
Than a common old flu
That is sure to kill Grandpa
And possibly you

I am done blasting those
Who think differently
While birds fall to the ground
From their side of the tree
And I am done wasting time
Debating with facts
When the lazy and nasty
Deem them political acts

Be done, be done
Let  joy rein the steed
And if you’re to ask
What is it we need?
We need Americans
Courageous by heart
To understand that
We are all meant in part
To live life without
A shoulder’s glance
Or a 2 year old leader
Carrying on with his rants
Be done with corruption
Put down your gun
Celebrate America
Where we all stand as one.
