Poet’s Corner: 100% Certain

I remember my first kiss:
I remember the boy’s name;
I remember the crispness in the autumn light;
I remember walking on a country lane;
I remember seeing cattails beyond his shoulder;
And I remember his breath on my lip and wondering if I should breathe.
I remember all of this as if it was yesterday.

That said:
I am not sure if I was in 7th or 8th grade.
I don’t remember what country lane we were walking on.
I don’t remember the time.
I don’t remember what we were wearing.

And yet, I am 100% certain it happened.
