Poet’s Corner – Measuring Time

Morning coffee measured
To the notes of Bach playing,
Spoon by spoon
Sip by sip
Evenly composed
Enchanted in sound.

Prepared porcelain cups delicately placed
Spinning in distant thoughts
As breaths awakened and timed
Begins the day.

Baskets precise in straight lines
As a circular rim of bananas
keeps you going  towards
sunrise.

Watercolors in soft tones filled with
Blues, reds, and greens, arranged between the yellows
On smooth papers
Await watchfulness.

Views of attention spent
Overflow our cups.
