Poet’s Corner – New Year

Like many beads of moisture

Scattered as lace across the grass

Yellows mixed with greens and umbers

Blanket the yard reaching wide and full.

Not expecting the length of day

To invite words to form

As shapes and collected colors,

I use the wind- swept leaves

As a blessed ending to the year.

Poem, “New Year” and artwork, “Swept Leaves,” by Marsha Solomon
