Poet’s Corner – Ones I Remember

As I lift my brush in a singular gesture
Greeted by multitudes of previous souls,
The women who inspired.
The graceful balance of abstract expressionists
Add their pigments
To my canvas in flowing rivers of cyan, sienna and bright yellows.
Many names are revealed
More are hidden from memory.
Yet the ones I remember
Are timelessly inscribed
In a circle of light.
