Poet’s Corner – Small Things

The morning shows a red cardinal

Shining among the many leaves.

Broad charcoal lines design a shape

Creating wings beneath a garden of colors.

Lavender soap cools my palms in a summer day’s heat.

Music resonates in whispers, harmonies and thunderous sounds

Echoing the numerous voices of migrating birds.

A tasteful repose awaits many gatherings

As fresh made cookies line themselves in many rows.

Look upwards at the bright crescent moon

As it touches Spica in the evening sky.

A sentence written in prose and poetry fills the pages

Gathering small things in the palm of our hands

The day’s reflections.
