Poet’s Corner: Through Time

Through time,
Snowflakes fall on the limbs of the Evergreen:
Glistening while they bring reflection.

Through time,
We welcome new life;
We say good-bye to old:
Only to cherish what has been
Only to hold the highest for what can be.

Through time,
Love reminds us to join hearts:
To come together for an eternity
Through its hope and promise.

Through time,
The sun will rise, and bring us a new day to discover.
Its first light waking the birds for song;
It’s warmth,  telling our soul’s we are human.
And in out humanity,
We learn to give, to love, to lift one another.

Through time,
We await the stars to come out;
So we may wish on that which is tender, true, and undying.

Through time,
The moon not only inspires romance;
It changes the tides:
It reminds us the world is not in our control;
But out direction is.

Through time
We dance;
We fall;
We cry out in mortal call:
Take my best;
And send it out 10 fold;
Hoping…
Praying…
Wishing…
It return to us through gentle snowflakes
Landing on strong boughs;
It return to us through the sun’s warmth;
A spring’s promise.

Let it return to us
By gentle sounds from the shore,
Greeting it’s surf.
Let it return through stars
Inspiring flight.
Let it return through the moon
Bringing phases of wonder.

Through time,
We walk the paths intended;
And close the doors on the shadows
Which clipped our wings.

Through time
We hold our lessons close from years past;
Like a shawl with yarns spun from Grandma’s wisdom
It warms us and stands guard;
Faithfully reminding, we need not fall again.

Today, we close another door.
Today, we open a new one.
Today, we hold the world close
And along with others, look toward the better.

Through time,
We heal.
We stand.
We love.

Time,
Life’s needle and thread…
It is out there.
It is waiting for you
All you need, is to open your heart and eyes;
And your brand new year will appear.
