Senior Concert Series at PNC Arts Center in Holmdel, NJ

There are plenty of advantages to being a senior citizen. Think museum discounts, movie deals, and grocery store specials. But there’s nothing like the Senior Concert Series at the PNC Arts Center in Holmdel, NJ.  Sponsored by The Garden State Arts Foundation, the variety of these free concerts will appeal to all musical tastes and styles.  The exciting spring line-up is currently being presented.

The Series just kicked off with Rick Michel’s “Sinatra Forever.”  Michel, has performed and headlined in Las Vegas since 1981.  His show focuses on the music of Ol’ Blue Eyes with extraordinary selections from his iconic songbook.

Sinatra has long been considered one of the most popular entertainers of the mid-20th Century and Rick Michel brings his music to full life. Variety has called him, “The closest thing to Sinatra we’ve ever heard,” and we totally agree.

To an enthusiastic audience of seniors, Rick Michel performed a range of over 20 songs accompanied by an exceptional full orchestra. Songs included “Let Me Try Again,” “Here’s to the Band,” “Strangers in the Night,” “My Way,” and “New York, New York.” His style and charm delighted and impressed.

The Senior Concert Series will continue with two more afternoon performances. The Texas Tenors will perform on Wednesday, May 15. On Monday, May 20, Dominic Scaglione, Jr. of Broadway’s Jersey Boys fame will sing the classics by Sinatra, Dean Martin, Four Seasons and Dion. The show will also feature comedian, John Pizza. Wrapping up the spring series is an evening performance.  On Thursday, May 30, Cousin Brucie Presents Herman’s Hermits starring Peter Noone, Gary Puckett & The Union Gap, and Lala Brooks & The Coda Band. A fall series will also be offered.

For more information, and to obtain tickets, visit www.GSAFoundation.org or call 732.442.9200.  While tickets are free, donations to the Garden State Arts Foundation are welcome to keep the concerts coming.
