Poet’s Corner: My One True Love

Walk with me in bitter cold
Walk with me in sun
Walk with me until we’re old
So we may die as one
Walk with me ‘neath Luna’s glow
Walk with me ‘neath stars
Hold me in dawn’s holy light
Rhythm writing our memoirs

Take my hand and hold it strong
Reminding me you’re there
Let your eyes gaze down on me
While I don’t give a care
Leave words atop our nightstand
They mean nothing in night’s dark
And let our kisses be the sign
Of true love’s watermark

Read my chapters, tenderly
Each page is parchment made
The ink which shares my secrets
Is a heartfelt serenade
And when the night is over
And we rest in what we know
It’s you I look to wake to
As we waltz through life’s tableau
