Poet’s Corner – The Egret

Elegantly drawn in one long stroke
The Egret’s neck twists and turns
Like a fine line of script drawn on an ancient scroll.
Alone by the water’s edge, standing
How fragile, it seems such spindly legs can shore up to provide.
