Poet’s Corner – The Path In Autumn Days

I travel to Jupiter and Saturn when evening skies darken
Planets spinning, rarely seen, as bright lanterns.
With morning memories
I walk in poetic strides.
Grasses are damp beneath my toes-
The path in autumn days
Where leaves scatter as random shapes and patterns
In phrases of colors.
Boats linger and navigate on the quietude of the bay
An expanse of blue and cyan
As people gathering their wares in a singularity of purpose.
The garden prepares for another season
A cup of pink opens to the sun
Reaching high its petals to flight
As nature dictates.
Highlights on my painting show yellows, oranges and reds
The sun enters it echoing another painting.
A stretch of sky and water
While boats gather through and beyond
Gracefully enfolded, views through my window
Are given freely.

The poem, The Path in Autumn Days, and the artwork, Phrases of Colors, are by Marsha Solomon.
