SNL Reveals Plan to “Reinvent” Trump for the 2024 Election Season
Saturday Night Live is now 50, and anticipation has never been higher for the new season which kicks off on September 28. Lorne Michaels has revealed that they will “reinvent” Trump, meaning we may see we new talent portraying the former president. We do know, however, that Maya Rudolph will be back to give us Kamala Harris. Stay tuned!
Sean “Diddy” Combs Jailed After Sex Trafficking Indictment
The music mogul who made stars out of some Mary J. Blige, Usher, and the Notorious B.I.G., is now in jail awaiting trial on a federal sex trafficking case. The details in the indictment made for some x-rated reading. Combs has been denied bail and his lawyer says he is being held in squalid conditions.
House Republicans Reject Their Own Funding Bill with a Shutdown Around the Corner
House Republicans may not know how to govern, but they sure know how to shut down the government. Beleaguered House Speaker Mike Johnson couldn’t keep his caucus in line because of – wait for it – Trump. The former president wants the so-called SAVE Act in the bill which would require people to show ID before they vote. The Senate will try to move a stop-gap spending bill which would still need House approval. With no action, the government could shut down on September 30, meaning those Social Security checks will not arrive.
Trump Says He Hasn’t Read Melania’s Upcoming Book Because He’s “So Busy”
Donald Trump urged people to buy his wife’s new book, but admits that he hasn’t read it. She’s made headlines recently talking about why she posed nude as a young model because so many people have asked. (Note: no one is asking.) Like Trump, we’re busy, so we’ll pass on this one, too.
Early MLB Award Predictions for Cy Young, and Rookie of the Year
The Yankees have clinched a playoff spot in the post season, but still have to nab the American League East post. But there’s already talk about some of the awards that are handed out after the World Series. No surprise that Aaron Judge is at the top of everyone’s list for MVP, but another Yankee, Austin Wells, is also in the mix for Rookie of the Year!
