For example, if you’re targeting stay-at-home moms as your potential customer base, then consider selling baby accessories or household items such as kitchen supplies and cleaning tools. Finally, don’t forget about doing some research on the market demand! If there is high competition in this niche already with well-established brands, maybe try something else instead.

If you’re serious about starting an online business on the side, it’s probably a good idea to create a website that can be used as a central hub for all of your marketing efforts. Start with something basic and easy to navigate so that people find what they want and convert into paying customers quickly and easily! If you already know how to code websites in HTML or another programming language, then go ahead and use this knowledge; however, many small businesses opt for using WordPress because it is simple enough but still has lots of room for customization. You don’t need any unique hosting either; there are plenty out there who will offer free services such as Google Drive if their clients only have one site up at a time.

6 Establish realistic short-term goals 

 It can be straightforward to get ahead of yourself when starting an online business. You might find that you are making good money right away, but this is not always the case! Make sure that you set some small goals to keep track of your progress and know where it’s headed next. Having a clear sense of what success looks like will help build momentum, so don’t skip out on writing these things down! If they change over time, then make a note of them as well because this is part of how you’ll shift gears without losing out on profits or motivation along the way.
