Poet’s Corner: A Day in Summer

The ease of summer, nostalgic daydreams

Woven in soft flowing dresses of pastels and playful exotic patterns

Lazy long days journeyed on bare toes stepping softly

Wet ripe peaches and bright cherries

tastes of warm afternoons

Light as air watching vines climb and wrap around canvasses sprinkled with reds and oranges

Warm grays dance across like butterflies in the wind

The heavy blossoms scent on thick hedges perfume the air

as a sudden storm surprises

A rainbow stretches across the early evening sky
